I thought it would be a good idea during our term break to get the children into a routine of focusing on something each morning, so when September comes round we wont (hopefully) spend weeks trying to settle them into a study routine.
So for the next two weeks it will be helping me sort out cupboards, closets, drawers etc and after that we will start on the outside of the house, which isn't too bad and should only take a week. After that we will be sprucing up the house with a bit of paint, not sure how long this will take, and how messy it will be as I will give the children each of their own little projects to do.
All of this will probably take us up to September, as we will still be going to HE outings, and there are a few museum activities we will be going into Exeter for too. Also hoping that the sun will grace us with its presence again, so we can make a few beach trips.
Also on the agenda will be museums - free ones especially - there are lots of little museums in Devon and we will be trying to visit as many as we can over the summer, mainly because the smaller ones are shut during the winter, and also because they are not that busy during the school holidays.
Castles - a lot of these are shut during the winter too, so thought we would try and visit as many as we can when Mike has his day off. Most heritage sites are free to us as Home Educators as long as we book two weeks in advance, which is handy.
So, will be busy scheduling for the summer - just hope this rain passes over us pretty quickly, good for the garden, but I was quite getting used to our Mediterranean summer.
Blessings
Lou x
