Not Back to School

Having a great time at Not being back to school this week.

After having a good weekend spent with family and friends celebrating my parents 40th Wedding Anniversary, we decided to try and have a fairly quiet week.

Bank Holiday Monday was a bit strange as Mike had to work, also a bit of a downer as Mike had a letter to say the care company that he currently works for may not be renewing their contract with DCC, and therefore it is more than likely that he would be out of a job by the end of September :-(

Tuesday - Mikes day off - had a lovely day out at Occombe Farm on a HE trip with  Teignbridge and Torbay HE Group .  A lovely description of the day can be found here.

On Wednesday we decided to have a day at home, as Mike was on a very tight schedule and would only be home for about an hour during the day.  My friend Kate popped over for a quick cup of tea, and to drop off stuff for the Green Fair that we are taking part in.

Thursday - plans to go for a walk along The Quay went out the window, got way laid by buying the children a mini pool table (nooker table as James now calls it) and buying a gazebo for the green fair as well.
We did manage to spend a lovely afternoon out in the garden though.

Today - Another trip into Exeter to take the HE display down from the library.  Also went for a latte at the Cathedral Cafe and went into the Cathedral to light a candle for a friend.  Unfortunately James managed to burn his face, thankfully it is only a small burn, and it didn't seem to hurt him too much.

Mike had an interview at lunchtime with another care company, and has got the job - so relieved.

He picked us up from the library, then we stopped of at Duryard Valley Park    for a picnic.

Back home now, James is having his nap,and the children are playing pool with their Dad.

As well as watching a Documentary about WWII on TV, cooking, sketching, gardening and of course ICT.

This evening -  we are going to celebrate Mikes new job and go out for a meal, my parents are back from their holiday and are going to join us.

Hope you all have a good weekend.
