We have had a good week, lots of good weather and nice days out.

On Monday we went into Exeter looking for lego for James and air fix models for Danny.  Couldn't find any lego that was suitable for James, and the air fix models were to expensive, according to Danny, as it was his pocket money and he thought he could get it cheaper in Crediton (which he did)

Tuesday is Mikes day off, so we all went on the train to Exmouth.

Then onto the Exmouth Beach Park

Wednesday - In the morning I took the children into Exeter, to a Bronze Age workshop at the Cathedral, where they made beaker pots with burial goods to place in a cist and decorated their own bronze dagger.

Mike on a split shift, so only home for a few hours in the afternoon.  In the evening my dad came out for his dinner, as my mum was in Brighton with my brother at a Rod Stewart concert.

Thursday - Home Ed trip to Decoy Country Park, Newton Abbot  Lovely day spent with friends.

Today - not sunny and hot as predicted by the Met Office, but cloudy and showery instead.  I was planning on taking them to the beach, but as the weather looked a bid dodgy we decided on a day at home, with maybe a trip to the park and library later.

Other stuff -    Gardening - have been planting out more sweet corn, and also what I think is melon (James pulled out the identity sticks, so we have to guess)  and also butternut squash. 
Also last year, Becky and Danny were studying snails, and they put a blob of nail varnish on two snails. We discovered one of these snails on our pumpkin patch, which we thought was quite funny, and even though we keep moving it (to a safe place of course as it is now classed as one of our pets) it keeps walking a good 10 yards back to the pumpkin patch!

Also to do with pets - Mike and I were sat in the Living room when we heard a scratching noise coming from the corner cupboard.  We all went to have a look and I saw what I thought was a mouse, running along the back wall.  So Mike and Danny and his mate were looking for it, had a box ready to catch it, when Danny announced that he could see the mouse, and it had brown spots on it and it was HUGE.  I had a look, and discovered it was our hamsters, Ziggy.  Becky picked him up and put him back in his cage, poor thing (was my fault, I didn't shut the cage properly after feeding him).  Thankfully he was alright, and it seems he had been feasting on James's discarded maltesers.

In the afternoon James had his nap and Danny was watching a James Bond film with his friend, so Mike took Becky for a coconut icecream milkshake at a new coffee shop in Crediton. As he he always doing one to one stuff with Danny, making model airplanes, playing football etc he wanted to spend some time with Becky, so they are going to try and do this every week.

Mike made a lovely fishermans pie for our main meal today, and in the evening we met my mum from the train station (of course James loves trains), then back home, we were going to watch a film, but it was a bit late, so I took James to bed, much to his annoyance, and Mike played "Guess Who" with Becky and Danny.

This weekend - unfortunately Mike is working.On Sunday Danny will be 10 years old.  He had his birthday treat last Sunday at the Air show, and he has decided that he just wants to stay at home, play on his games, eat his favourite foods and chill out.  Fine with me.
